We turn the greatest public domain books into short posts that capture the heart of each story: who, what, and why it still matters. A few minutes on your feed, and a classic is no longer a stranger.

Text-to-speech for low-resource languages.
Most voice technology serves only a handful of languages. We’re building text-to-speech for languages with few digital resources, so stories can be heard as well as read in the languages people speak at home.
Why low-resource languages
Mostly spoken
Many low-resource languages live mainly in speech. Few people read or write them, so written knowledge in these languages reaches few of their speakers.
Hard to get right
Low-resource languages need a level of text-to-speech accuracy that off-the-shelf tools don’t reach. Getting there takes real technological effort.
Knowledge for many
A voice model that speaks these languages well can turn written knowledge into something many more people can simply listen to, in a language they understand.

We’re translating the top public domain books into low-resource languages, making this body of knowledge available to their speakers in a language they understand. The first version is machine generated and still has typos, so we need native speakers to review and edit it into a quality version.

Many of the stories we share are not original ideas. They belong to the authors, cultures and histories they come from. Our work is presenting them in an accessible way to different audiences.

Some of our content is created with the help of AI, including Anthropic’s Claude, Google’s Gemini and NotebookLM, and, depending on the task, models from OpenAI, xAI (Grok), DeepSeek and Meta (Llama). With a small team and limited resources, AI helps us reach a good level of quality at scale, faster.
